Usual performance that was anything but exciting, but a different result than usual. Reggina takes three points from the trip to Enna and is confident in a better future. The signature was that of Luca Ferraro who, in the final minutes, gave the Amaranths victory with an imperious cut from a cross originating from a free kick taken by Edera. A goal that will hopefully be a watershed in the Strait team’s championship. The Amaranths entered the match with five under in the starting lineup. The choice initially gave the team more running and dynamism than usual, without however guaranteeing a leap in quality in terms of play. In a first half with very modest technical contents on both sides, the guests managed to contain an opponent who above all put physicality and constant verticalisations towards the attackers on the pitch.
Reggina once again proved incapable of consistently applying pressure that could emphasize their opponents’ obvious difficulties in maneuvering. So the first half ended as a match played mainly on midfield scrums, dirty balls and zero noteworthy plays. An opportunity for each side worth mentioning is a conclusion from the heart of the area by Mbaye on the development of a set ball that went wide and then a header by Lanzilotta neutralized by goalkeeper Loliva following a cross by Ragusa.
Reggina’s start to recovery was terrible: disorderly, vulnerable and incapable of playing football. Enna tried to take advantage of it by finding a one-to-one conclusion with Mazzone’s goalkeeper, on whom Summa was reactive in closing the shot. At a certain point the match seemed to be going very badly for the Amaranths, who were dominated in terms of intensity by their opponents.
In the final part of the match, however, the team, perhaps also invigorated by the pitches, held the pitch better and earned some interesting dead balls. Ferraro’s goal was born from one of them, before resisting the opponents’ attacks well. Laaribi was sent off at the end for a late intervention in midfield.
