Reggio, 6.5 million euros for the Lido and a thousand unknowns

Hopes, wishes, dreams. And if they are roses… they will bloom. Never as in the case of the municipal Lido is hope the last to die. No, it is not the glossary of the cliché – by the way, a nice “horse camp” could also fit – but rather the serious point on the interventions (realised and planned) for the historical structure and with great identity value for the city, capable more than any other to attract attention and catalyze controversy.

It was discussed at 360 degrees in the Municipality, in the ninth council commission (control and guarantee), where, at the invitation of the president of the organisation, Massimo Ripepi, the hearing of the manager of the public works sector of Palazzo San Giorgio, the architect Bruno Doldo, was held.

The accounts

The total investment of public funds planned for the municipal Lido is currently around 6.5 million euros, of which 1.5 have been allocated to the intervention already carried out for the redevelopment of 92 cabins and the related external areas. Another intervention, worth 2 million euros, is the direct responsibility of the Regional Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture, while further works for 3 million euros (again from the Ministry of Culture) are managed by the Municipality with the aim of recovering all the northern part of the municipal Lido. We are also evaluating the possibility of resorting to project financing for Torre Nervi, which requires interventions estimated at approximately 5 million euros.
