The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Reggio Calabria, led by Giuseppe Borrelli, has ordered the autopsy of the body of Antonino Fabio Calabrò, the 40-year-old electrician who died of an electrocution while he was working for a private company assembling lights in the municipality of Calanna.
Originally from Rosalì, a hamlet north of Reggio Calabria, according to what we learned, he was busy with other colleagues connecting the lights to the electricity grid on behalf of a private company, when, for reasons still under investigation, he was fatally struck by a discharge. The rescue efforts in the attempt to save him were of no avail and the 118 health workers, who arrived on site, were only able to declare his death.
The police also seized the van of the company the victim worked for. Calabrò, at the time of the accident, was on a ladder and was connecting some lights for the feast of the Madonna dell’Annunziata to the electricity grid. Except for the one in which he was electrocuted, according to what has been reconstructed, the other lights were already regularly active and connected to the temporary supply activated for the party. While awaiting the outcome of the autopsy, it is not excluded that in the next few hours the person who commissioned Calabrò to carry out that operation and who authorized him to do so may be heard.

«In short, we are waiting – adds Romeo – to understand in detail what happened. And as a sign of dismay we canceled the events that had been planned up until the mid-August holidays precisely as a sign of respect towards the family, towards dear Fabio. But also of closeness to the entire Calannese community who knew this boy who, although he was resident in the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, in Rosalì. he lived almost on the border with Calanna”.
