Reggio becomes the capital of ice cream: the delights of “Scirubetta” are back

From the September 14th to 17th the ice cream festival is back “Scirubetta 2024”, now in its third edition. For three days the city of Bronzes will be the capital of artisanal ice cream which will have the Lungomare as its stage, with the village set up, in the Lido station area. “Scirubetta” had been missing for a few years, a culinary event that had already registered, in its first edition, considerable interest at a national level. The event, promoted by Confederation of Italian Pastry Chefs (Conpait), together with the Metropolitan Citywill see the presence of over 34 master ice cream makers from all over Italy and the world.
The goal is not only to promote this dessert, but also to experiment with new, exclusive and innovative flavors. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste a variety of artisanal ice creams, voting for their favorite through a token system. Yesterday the presentation at Alvaro Palacewith the mayor Joseph Falcomata; Angel Musolinopastry chef from Reggio and national president of Conpait; the metropolitan deputy mayor Carmelo Versace; Joseph Musolino, pastry chef from Reggio and national president of Conpait; Fabio Tavern president of Conpait Calabria, Antonello Fragomenti President of Apar and David DeStefano by Conpait gelato sector. With the success of previous editions, which saw the distribution of thousands of tastings, the organizers aim to exceed expectations, consolidating “Scirubetta” as one of «the most important festivals in the national gelato panorama».
