Last Sunday, like 30% of Italians, I went to the polls to exercise my right to vote. As a blind, I had previously requested the Municipality of Reggio Calabria the affixing of the code on the electoral card which allows, to those who have impediments, to be accompanied in the electoral cabin. This code is issued only after the verification by the Municipality that ascertains the necessary requirements ». Thus begins the complaint by Fortunato Pirrotta, for a long time manager of the Italian Union of Blindwho tells the difficulties encountered at the seat in order to express his right to vote. «Unfortunately, the president of the seat n. 7 of Reggio Calabria insisted that I would also have to present the ASL certificate, claiming that the documentation in his possession required it.
