Reggio Calabria on the cover of the History of Art book for high school. Thanks to “Opera” by Edoardo Tresoldian extraordinary creation that brings the best image of the city to Italy and the world. “It really happened!” is the first comment by Mayor Falcomatà, between pride and disbelief in knowing that “Work” was chosen for the cover of the third volume (From Neoclassicism to Contemporary Art) of the new edition of the Manual of Art History for the school, “Art. A natural and civil history” published by Einaudi – Mondadori Education, authors Salvatore Settis and Tomaso Montanari, intended for three-year high school students.
“Now hundreds of thousands of students will see our city every time they open their art book. And I remember that someone, when we presented the project, even had the courage to argue. Today ‘Opera’ is a source of pride for the entire community Reggina. More and more!”, added the mayor.
“Seeing Reggio Calabria on the cover of a contemporary art history manual is a great source of pride and happiness for me”, commented the author Tresoldi. Because “Public art is a comparison that reminds us that we all belong to everyone and that we must take care to cultivate a virtuous community to be light.
I dedicate this sweet moment to the boys and girls of Reggio and to all those people who do everything possible to bring a breadth of vision and new stimuli to the community. Special thanks to the authors, Mondadori Education and Einaudi publisher for choosing to include me in this volume and obviously my dear friend and impeccable collaborator Il Conte Photography who took the photos”, concluded the artist.
