Confindustria Reggio Calabria and the University of Mediterranean Studies renew their collaboration to enhance academic merit and support young graduates in the area. In fact, the second edition of the “Retaining Young Talents to Strengthen the Economic and Social Future” Award was launched, promoted by the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Confindustria Reggio Calabria.
The initiative aims to strengthen the dialogue between universities and the local production system, encouraging the stay of young talents in the area and combating the phenomenon of professional migration.
1,500 euro prize for the best thesis on innovation and entrepreneurship
The recognition includes a prize worth 1,500 euros, which will be awarded to the three-year degree thesis deemed most deserving in the sectors of economics, technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
Graduates of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria who have obtained a three-year degree in the period between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2025, with a grade of no less than 108/110 and in compliance with the regularity of their studies, are eligible to participate.
How to participate in the Young Talents 2026 call
Applications must be sent by registered mail or delivered by hand to the Confindustria Reggio Calabria headquarters, in Via del Torrione 96, by 12.30 pm on 19 June 2026.
The package must contain:
- application for participation;
- identity document;
- copy of the degree thesis;
- abstract of maximum two pages, also in PDF format.

«With this award we want to give a concrete signal to young people who choose to study, innovate and build their future in Reggio Calabria», declares Nicola Cuzzocrea, president of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Confindustria Reggio Calabria.
«Retaining talent means creating opportunities, enhancing merit and strengthening the link between universities, businesses and the territory».
The Commission may also assign special mentions to theses that present particular potential in the field of youth self-entrepreneurship.
Awards ceremony on 10 July at Confindustria Reggio Calabria
The winning thesis will be proclaimed during a public event scheduled for 10 July 2026 at the Confindustria Reggio Calabria headquarters, in the presence of the participants, associated entrepreneurs and academic authorities.
