The Shareholders’ Meeting of Hermes Servizi Metropolitani Srl met this afternoon at Palazzo San Giorgio. As already happened in the morning for Castore, the meeting proposed and unanimously approved a change in the company’s governance model: the termination of the Board of Directors and the appointment of a Sole Director. At the same time, Mayor Falcomatà formalized the appointment of lawyer Manuela Chindemi as Sole Director of Hermes Servizi Metropolitani.
The reasons behind this corporate restructuring, which follows that which already occurred for Castore SPL Srl, were illustrated by the Mayor during the Assembly. The Municipality of Reggio Calabria is called to optimize direct spending and that of subsidiaries, and to improve the consolidated budget, reporting promptly to the Court of Auditors, in compliance with the “Pact with the Government” and the multi-year financial rebalancing procedure.
Furthermore, the municipal company has suffered a substantial reduction in the activities managed due to the recent regional reforms which established Arrical as the governing body for the water and waste sectors and entrusted the entire aqueducts and purification segment to Sorical. In light of these determinations, the objective is to produce a significant cost containment.
«We have the task – explained Mayor Falcomatà – of making strategic reorganization choices to make services and tools more efficient, to rationalize spending, to adapt to the TUEL also in light of the new regional framework which has significantly reduced the services managed by Hermes. From this perspective – added the first Citizen – exactly as happened for Castore, we have worked to restructure the governance model, transforming the administrative top of the company and reducing management costs”.
During the Assembly, the Mayor thanked the entire outgoing Board of Directors, wishing Lawyer Manuela Chindemi, the new Sole Director of Hermes, good work.
