Serious road accident this morning in the Oliveto area, in the municipal area of Reggio Calabria, where a municipal public transport bus and a Fiat Doblò collided.
Following the impact, the driver of the Doblò was trapped inside the passenger compartment. A team of firefighters from the provincial command of Reggio Calabria – headquarters intervened on site and freed the man from the sheets of metal. Once extracted, the injured man was entrusted to the healthcare staff of Suem 118, who after initial treatment ordered his transfer to hospital under code red.
The intervention of the Fire Brigade also helped to make the area and the vehicles involved safe. Fortunately, none of the bus passengers were injured.
Local police officers also intervened on site to investigate the case and manage traffic, as well as health personnel from Suem 118.
