The ‘Capacity’ project of the Messina Foundationaimed at the redevelopment of the slums of Messina, won second place, on equal merit with theUkrainian initiative Sylni Togetherto the Prize for Social Cohesion of the Bank of the Council of Europe.
To win was DIgital Twin, a project developed in Istanbul that uses 3D modeling, simulations and artificial intelligence to optimize disasters management.
The three finalists were selected from 95 projects from 26 member countries of the Council of Europe. “Capacity, which offers marginalized people of accommodation, work and education, and has already changed the life of over 200 families “, has received a prize of 5 thousand euros from the Bank of the Council of Europe.
The same figure was also assigned to the Ukrainian project “which provides free medical assistance and psychotherapy and reserved for survivors of sexual violence”.
The Turkish initiative, awarded “for its transformative impact on the planning of rescue in the event of calamity” and because it offers replicable solutions that could be benefited from other cities in Europe, has instead received 45 thousand euros.
