The municipal council of Rende approved, before the summer break, the three-year project to strengthen revenue collection for the period 2026-2028, a step that marks a precise political will: to put the accounts in order, recover resources that had been blocked for years and establish a discontinuity compared to previous managements, often characterized by delays, growing residues and a credit warehouse that has gradually become heavier.
The administration led by the mayor aims to transform an improvement recorded in recent years into a structural change of pace. In 2024 the overall collection capacity reached 59 percent, significantly exceeding the average of the previous three years, which stood at 46.5 percent. An encouraging figure, but not enough: the Municipality wants to consolidate the trend and above all intervene on what didn’t work in the past, when forced collection proceeded slowly and a significant part of the credits risked becoming statute barred.
