The General Secretary Spi CGIL National Tania Scacchetti met the mayor and MEP in Riace Mimmo Lucano as part of the Christmas initiative dedicated by the CGIL Metropolitan Area of Reggio Calabria and by the SPI CGIL Metropolitan Area to foreign children guests of the Global Village
“Riace – stated the Secretary – is an experience that demonstrates how the future of our country itself depends on integration and the valorisation of differences and the possibility of bringing villages to life that would otherwise risk dying. THEn a society that is aging very quickly like the Italian one, this is one of the strongest answers that can be given”.
“Riace, and for a thousand reasons also Mimmo Lucano, are a symbol – he added -. The hope is that this experience can restart in different ways. In Calabria there are several examples of this type that deserve attention at a national level.”
