Two Siracusa Calcio fans were hit by orders prohibiting access to sporting events (Daspo) issued by the police commissioner of Vibo Valentia, following a detailed investigation conducted by Digos and an investigation carried out by the Anti-Crime Division.
The measures, lasting 4 and 8 years respectively, arise from the episodes that occurred in January 2023 at the “Pizzo Est” service area of the A2 motorway, on the occasion of the trip of the Siracusa 1924 supporters headed to Castrovillari for the match with the local team.

According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, during the stop, some fans – some of whom had their faces distorted by hoods and balaclavas – took advantage of the confusion inside the service station to remove goods of various kinds, causing disorder and damage.

Immediately after the events, two perpetrators were identified and sanctioned, but the continuation of the investigations by the State Police also made it possible to identify two other participants in the episodes, who initially remained unknown.

In light of the numerous police precedents and the social danger that has emerged, the commissioner has issued new Daspos against them. For one of the two, in consideration of the recidivism and violent past, the GIP of the Court of Vibo Valentia also validated the obligation to sign on the days in which sporting events are held, thus configuring an aggravated Daspo.
