The arrest in Medellín
According to what was communicated by the authorities, the arrest took place in Medellín, a city located approximately 417 kilometers north-west of Bogota. The intervention was conducted in coordination with Interpol, as part of an international cooperation activity against organized crime networks.
The alleged links with the Gulf Clan
The information released indicates that Nastasi has links to the Colombian criminal structure called the Clan del Golfo. Investigators are investigating the role of the Italian and the relationships between the local organization and the ‘Ndrangheta, in the context of illicit trafficking and money laundering.
The Colombian authorities underlined that the operation is part of a broader strategy to combat transnational organizations, made possible by collaboration with international partners.
