Four reduced penalties and a condemnation confirmed in the second degree process, of abbreviated riteresulting from the investigation of the DDA of Catanzaro on the alleged illegal activities of the gang Corigliano-Committee of Rocca di Neto. This was sentenced by the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro which confirmed the accusatory system outlined with the first instance ruling issued by the Gup of Catanzaro on June 26, 2024.
The blitz, taken on December 19, 2022 with 18 stops performed by the Crotone mobile team, disarticolic the clan which – for the investigators – would be headed by Pietro Corigliano (accused in Crotone in the ordinary rite judgment). The investigations began in March 2020 following an FBI information that hypothesized a series of extortion that some representatives of the Rocchisano criminal group would perpetrate against the Manhattan premises in New York. As reconstructed by the investigators, the “core business” of the gang, which could count on the availability of weapons, would have consisted in the requests of “lace” to private clinics, farms and commercial activities, as well as in the sale of cocaine and marijuana. For Michele Antonio Comito (of 1963) sentence reduced to 15 years, 9 months and 10 days in prison (at first instance 20 years); Salvatore Comito, 17 years old, 8 months and 20 days (20 years); Martino Corigliano, 13 years old and 5 months (20); Gabriele Stefanizzi, 6 years old, 11 months and 10 days (8 years, 8 months and 23 days). Finally, 20 years of imprisonment confirmed for Michele Antonio Comito (from 1991).
