An Abbey packed in every place and order, this afternoon gave its final farewell to the unfortunate 48-year-old Serafino Congi: employed, married, and father of two young girls who passed away last Saturday (4 January) around 6.30 pm for cardiac arrest in an ambulance headed to the Annunziata di Cosenza, near Acquacoperta, just outside Spezzano Sila. Everything revolves around a transfer delay of at least 3 hours from 3pm to 6pm. The air ambulance could not take off because there was fog in the area, nor could the Suem 118 ambulance provide the immediate transfer, as the service was without a medical professional. Hence the delay that had accumulated, having alerted a car that had arrived from Cosenza to transfer the man.
After Montescuro, however, the misfortune ended in Acquacoperta while the medical team worked hard to try to resuscitate the employee. Hence Congi’s return to the city lifeless, with the judicial authority ordering his transfer to Cosenza to carry out the autopsy examination. Which was carried out on Wednesday 7th and the report for which is awaited, also in relation to the time-dependent. Yesterday, we were saying, the final farewell, officiated by Father Giuseppe Lombardi, assisted by all the parish priests and Franciscans of the city. Religious worship has not failed to “indicate” the parables of the Gospel that lead “to living in remembrance in faith, to then find oneself next to Jesus”.
