Sanremo dreams of Sinner on the Ariston stage. Negotiations have started, but in those days he is expected in… Marseille

He is the sporting champion of the moment: after having led the national tennis team to the historic victory in the Davis Cup last November, tonight, in the eternal challenge against world number one Novak Djokovic, access to the final of the Australian Open is at stake. Jannik Sinner would be the perfect sporting super-guest for Sanremo 2024: the festival is courting him, contacts are ongoing, and the South Tyrolean champion would also like, as far as we know, to participate in the TV event par excellence.

The problem, however – apart from budgetary issues – would be the entanglements in Sinner’s busy calendar of commitments, which from February 5th he is expected at the ATP tournament in Marseille. The idea had been circulating for some time: already in October, on the sidelines of the presentation of Viva Rai2!, Fiorello – a great tennis fan – had said: «I would really like to host it, if Amadeus doesn’t get ahead of me». And while on the sporting front there are rumors – anticipated by TvBlog – about Francesco Totti’s possible return to Ariston, a suggestion born after the former Giallorossi captain hosted Viva Rai2! again, his presence at Ariston appears certain – in quota faces of fiction – by Leo Gassmann, already winner among the New Proposals in 2020 and competing last year, this time in the role of the protagonist of Califano, the TV film dedicated to the unforgettable singer-songwriter, expected on Rai1 on Sunday 11 February, all ‘after the festival final.
