High grass, poor maintenance and possible safety risks for pedestrians and cyclists. This is what Silvio Console, commissioner of Noi Moderati di Santa Maria del Cedro, reports, in reference to the conditions of the provincial road that connects the city center of Marcellina to State Road 18, in the locality of La Bruca di Scalea.
Reporting to the competent bodies
Console recalls that he had formally reported the critical issues along the road stretch already in April to the competent bodies, highlighting the need for maintenance and safety measures.
According to the political exponent, more than a month after the report, no intervention had been carried out and the situation remained unchanged.
«Unacceptable condition»
«This is an unacceptable condition that penalizes residents, workers and tourists, as well as representing a potential risk for traffic safety» says Console. «The absence of answers and concrete interventions fuels the feeling that the problems of this part of the upper Tyrrhenian Sea of Cosenza do not receive due attention from the relevant institutions».
The commissioner of Noi Moderati also underlines how citizens have the right to safe and efficient infrastructure. «We cannot accept that entire communities are left in indifference. Citizens deserve safe, efficient and properly maintained infrastructure. For this reason we ask the competent bodies to intervene urgently and to provide clear answers on the timescales foreseen for the road’s repair”.
