Clearance in the Town Hall yesterday morning, between the Municipality and the “Consorzio Stabile InfraTech” company of Sant’Agata di Militello, awarded in 2022 of the integrated contract for the design and construction of the hydrogeological arrangement works of the Agrò stream, financed in 2019 by the Region with a contribution of 3,417,000 euros of European funds Po Fesr-Action 5.1.1.A, then reduced last August to 2,900,000 euros under the 2014-2020 development and cohesion plan.
The Municipality has been ready to make the delivery for some time, also because the timescales are tight given that the works must be completed by 31 December 2026, but on 20 October a cold shower arrived.
The “Consorzio Stabile InfraTech”, in fact, after anticipating it a week before, sent a request to withdraw from the contract in light of the changed economic and contractual conditions which no longer satisfied the contractor and at that point the Municipality found itself with its back to the wall and looked for a solution to avoid the loss of the financing.
