The anti-mafia prosecutor’s office in Milan has defined it as a “congregation of several criminal groups”, a sort of single management of the mafia system in Lombardy, in which exponents of the ‘Ndrangheta, Camorra and Cosa Nostra operate together. An investigative lead that led to the “Hydra” investigation, in which 143 people were involved, 48 of whom were accused of mafia association.
Confirmation of the existence of the criminal structure was offered by justice collaborator William Alfonso Cerbo, accused in “Hydra” and fraudster in the service of the Mazzei clan of Catania. The 43-year-old from Catania began collaborating last September and has already given six long interrogations to the Milan DDA deputy prosecutors Alessandra Cerreti and Rosario Ferracane.
