Following an audit of the expenditure chapters of the tourism department’s budget, we managed to find 5 million euros to finance the production of films in Sicily. A great satisfaction, because among the projects that can be supported there is also the famous film on Biagio Conte, a concrete sign of attention towards a figure who represented solidarity, love, hope for the city and for the poorest”. The President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, announced it in a video on Facebook. “This government has always believed in the film tourism segment as a vehicle for promoting our territory. From the start of the legislature to today we have allocated over 25 million euros in this sector, aware of the fact that for every euro invested there is a multiplier effect of 3 euros. The objective is to attract more and more national and international production companies, but also to strengthen local businesses and support those works that will contribute to enhancing the territory, culture, history and identity of Sicily” adds the Tourism councilor, Elvira Amata.
