Scott rebirth, the shortened line starts again: 44 defendants summoned to trial for the appeal-bis THE NAMES

The Scott Rebirth maxi-trial marks a new fundamental stage. The Court of Appeal of Catanzaro issued the summons for trial for 44 defendants involved in the summary procedure. The provision, signed by the President of the Second Criminal Section, Dr. Alessandro Bravin, establishes the resumption of the hearing following the ruling of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

The reasons for the new judgment: the annulment of the Supreme Court

The new second degree trial, technically defined as appeal-bis, became necessary after the Court of Cassation, on 22 May 2025, ordered the annulment and postponement of the previous sentence issued by the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro on 30 October 2023. The documents were therefore transmitted to a different section of the same Calabrian Court for a new evaluation of the positions of the defendants cited. At the center of the disputes are, among others, associative crimes linked to drug trafficking provided for by the art. 74 Presidential Decree 309/90.

The judicial appointment is scheduled for April 16, 2026 at 12 pm in the Aula Magna of the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro.
