Stories of rights denied, trampled on by the governor, after the many promises never kept. Many complain about the lack of liquidation, six, seven, ten years after retirement. It is a sacrosanct right of every worker, and denying it is an unacceptable violation. Occhiuto is aware of all this. He had made clear commitments, including with me during a meeting held in June 2024 and dedicated to this emergency, as well as to the many other problems affecting our region. Again, I refreshed his memory with a letter. Then the public promises to provide severance pay during the election campaign to the over 100 employees of the closed land reclamation consortia in Calabria and to date, however, there has not been a single step forward. This severance pay is and remains an open wound, because Occhiuto violates workers’ rights. We will not leave them alone and we will continue to fight in the streets and in the institutions, remaining at their side. Because respect for rights is not a favor: it is a duty”.
