A shooting shakes the night of the nightlife on the seafront of Sant’Angelo in Corigliano Rossano. First a furious quarrel, then the shots, which unleash the panic. In the evening, the agents of the police station undergo a 18 -year -old and a minor (both defended by the lawyer Francesco Nicoletti). The accusation is of attempted murder.
Everything was consumed shortly before 2 in the central area of the Lungomare of the Urban Area of Rossano. From a first reconstruction, it seems that about twenty people have stopped a car in transit. The target was the young man at the helm, a face known in judicial environments, forced to go down, surrounded and beaten to blood. Punches, kicks and beating. There are those who scream and move away, until two guns emerge. Shots are exploded, more than a dozen. Fear becomes panic. Those who can run away and hide on the beach or behind other cars. Strokes exploded in the air, as a warning, but also on the side of the young man’s car. In a few minutes the police steering wheel arrives, and the authors of the attack and the shooting are fleeing. In the meantime, the victim seems to have managed to reach the Giannettasio hospital in Rossano with his car. Here he was medicated and his conditions do not arouse concerns. Fortunately, as mentioned, nobody was hit.
Just in the same stretch of waterfront only 24 hours earlier had occurred another furious brawl which was followed by the fire of a car. The investigators do not exclude that the two episodes can be connected, and they are going to any useful response to clarify the dynamics of a very serious episode, which undermines the serenity of the town, with parents frightened by the violence of what happened in the heart of the nightlife, between the summer ahead of young people and families.
The incident was followed carefully by the Prosecutor of Castrovillari and the investigations continue by the police station and the carabinieri of the territorial department of Corigliano Rossano. The images of the surveillance cameras have been acquired and it seems that in the afternoon three people, it seems belonging to the same family unit, have been brought to the police station, but official communications are expected by the investigating bodies.
