After the success of the inauguration with the tribute concert to Ennio Morricone, the Music & Cinema review continues, promoted by the Politeama Theater of Catanzaro. Saturday 2 March, at 9pm, an appointment for all ages with “Shrek – The Musical TYA”, a production signed by AncheCinema, directed by Graziano Galatonestar performer of the very successful Notre Dame de Paris of Riccardo Cocciante. The Politeama Foundation, to encourage the widest participation of very young people, has launched a special promotion: Entry will be free for children under 16 for every three tickets purchased by family members.
Adaptation of the 2001 DreamWorks film of the same name, winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Film, in turn based on the illustrated book by William Steig, the musical version of “Shrek” debuted in its original production on Broadway in 2008 and then went on stage in theaters around the world. The Show boasts the booklet of David Lindsay-Abaire (Pulitzer Prize 2007 for Theatre) and the music of Jeanine Tesori (winner of the Tony Award – the Oscar of musical theater – for “Fun Home”).
The entirely made in Italy production includes the collaboration of some renowned excellences of the artistic panorama: the choreographies are handled by Debora Boccuniformer ballet director of the Teatro Sistina in Rome, the re-staging bears the signature of Mirko Guglielmiwhile on stage he stands out Michele Savoia – versatile Apulian actor winner of the David di Donatello dello Spectatore together with MeControTe for The mystery of the enchanted school – in the role of the protagonist of this contemporary fairy tale. A show that will attract the curiosity of the younger audience above all, thanks to the physical and digital sets that recreate the different settings of the world of Shrek, the holographic special effects and the famous 7 meter long Dragon (the largest in the world ever created for Shrek – The Musical) created by Marino Scenografie.
