The prevention measures section of the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria accepted the appeal presented by Cosimo Commisso, born in 1950, assisted by lawyers Sandro Furfaro and Francesco Commisso, canceling the special surveillance and revoking the confiscation of assets ordered against him in the nineties. A decision that marks a turning point in a judicial affair that lasted over thirty years and which, according to the judges, no longer has any basis in light of subsequent review rulings.
The provision overturns what was established by the Court of Reggio Calabria in February 2025, which had rejected the request for revocation of the prevention measures applied to Commisso in 1992 and confirmed on appeal in 1996, as well as the confiscation of assets ordered in 1993 and which became definitive in 2011.
