First title on grass for Jannik Sinner. The South Tyrolean champion, number 1 in the world rankings and on the scoreboard, won the “Terra Wortmann Open”, an ATP 500 tournament staged on the lawns of the OWL Arena in Halle, in Germany, with a total prize pool of 2,411,390 euros. The Italian beat the Polish Hubert Hurkacz, n. 9 ATP and fifth seeding, in two sets with a score of 7-6(8) 7-6(2).

“Now it’s Wimbledon and I can’t wait. Last year I reached the semi-final – said the world number 1 – this time we’ll see but I’ll certainly have more confidence on this surface. The grass there is a bit different but I will have a week to prepare.” Then a special dedication. “I dedicate the trophy to the people close to me. To my girlfriend Anna who lost in the final in Berlin with 5 match points.”
