Next weekend should be the one. And the conditional is really a must. Certainly once the framework of the city council has been defined – with the final data of the preferences expected for tomorrow – the last official reason given by the mayor Federico Basile and the leader of South calls North Cateno De Luca to justify the long times for the appointments of the councilors also disappears. Long times which, not surprisingly, are also recorded in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, where the Council has already settled. For the Scolaro council the issue concerns the search for a meeting point between the need to insert new names (including the former Giardini councilor Ivano Cantello, brother of the Messina municipal councilor Mirko) and the reluctance of the reinforcements who arrived during the electoral campaign – Ilenia Torre and Paolo Pino – to make certain compromises already requested.
For the Basile council, however, the puzzle game, at least in this phase, is entirely internal to the South calls the North. To the point that some members of De Luca’s party would have suggested a classic application of the Cencelli Manual (as also polemically observed by Marcello Scurria in recent days) to the lists that passed the 5 percent barrier, to try to overcome the impasse with “mathematical” logic.
