Yet another fatal accident on State Road 106, inside the Santicelli 1 tunnel near the Municipality of Soverato. A cyclist, a man, lost his life (Carlo Carrai, 65 years old), originally from Pisa who was a regular visitor to the Ionian coast of Catanzaro
The unfortunate person was hit by an SUV and the latter apparently continued its journey without stopping. The Carabinieri of the Soverato company were on site and carried out investigations to trace the exact dynamics of the accident. Inevitable repercussions on traffic which remained blocked for a few hours until around 3pm. The firefighters and Anas were on site.
The motorist has been traced
From what we learn, the man who hit and killed the 65-year-old has been tracked down and is in custody on charges of vehicular homicide and hit-and-run. The Carabinieri of the Soverato company took action with the coordination of the Catanzaro Prosecutor's Office.
