A board of inquiry commission will investigate the regularity of the financial and administrative management of the investee company Catanzaro Servizi. Yesterday, in the Third Permanent Commission, what was discussed in recent days by the group leaders’ conference regarding the establishment of the body – which will be set up alongside the one on the issuing of concessions and the actual intended use of the properties in via Izzi De Falenta and retroporto – was taken note of and a discussion was started between the political forces to arrive at the City Council (which will have to set them up) with an already defined framework.
These are the two commissions requested by Azione councilor Stefano Veraldi, who on several occasions asked to establish the two commissions of inquiry. In particular, that on the investee will have to verify the legitimacy of the documents constituting expenditure titles of the company, so as to ascertain the regularity of its management, which ended up in the eye of the storm in particular in 2025, with the dispute over tax credits.
Yesterday it was defined that the two commissions will be made up of 8 members (the presidency, as per the council regulation, will go to the minority) and will have a duration of six months. The meetings (which do not provide remuneration for members) will be closed to the public and the final report will also be presented to the City Council in a secret session. What will be defined in the next commission meetings, therefore, will then be subjected to scrutiny by the City Council, the body responsible for establishing the two bodies.
