Jannik Sinner continues to defend his title and reaches the semifinal of Wimbledon 2026. The world number one beats the German Jan-Lennard Struff with a score of 7-5, 7-6 (4), 6-3 after two hours and 34 minutes of play, reaching the third semifinal of his career at the Championships, after those of 2023 and 2025.
For the 24-year-old from San Candido it is the tenth Slam semi-final, a goal that allows him to reach John Newcombe, Arthur Ashe and Carlos Alcaraz. In the second set the Italian also canceled out a set point from the German, before closing the match in three sets. It is also success number 98 in Grand Slam tournaments.

Sinner will now play for a place in the final against the Serbian and former world number one Novak Djokovic, who beat the Canadian Felix Auger-Alissime at the end of yet another five-set marathon of his career (7-6 (10) 3-6 6-3 6-7 (4) 7-6 (4) in five hours and 13 minutes of play).
“I stayed there mentally”
«It was very tough with Struff, a difficult player to face. He started better than me, I was in a bit of difficulty, then I entered the match, I stayed there mentally and started to serve better. I’m happy to be back in the semi-finals”, declared the South Tyrolean at the end of the match.
The Italian champion also underlined the weight of the second set: «It could have ended in another way and there was a big difference between winning it and losing it. In the third I was more relaxed. I’m happy to have finished in three sets, but it was a tough match.”
The memory of Roland Garros
Sinner finally returned to the defeat at Roland Garros: «We worked a lot after Paris to understand what had happened, we prepared as best we could and today I felt at ease. I hope it doesn’t happen to me again, but if it does happen again we will have to change something. For now I’m enjoying the semi-final.”
