The Regional Council of Calabria has approved an important measure aimed at supporting the new internal areas selected in the national strategy for internal areas (Snai) 2021-2027.
In consistency with the Calabria FESR FSE regional program+ 2021-2027, priority 5, specific objective 5.2, action 5.2.1, the procedure for the co-financing of the “Alto Ionio Cosentino” and “Tirrenic Aspromonte” side “with a regional share of 8 million euros for each area, compared to the 4 million euros already allocated at national level, is started. This measure guarantees, as already foreseen in the 2014-2020 programming cycle, a regional contribution equal to double the national resources, for a total of 12 million euros per area.
Furthermore, in compliance with the principles of territorial equity and non-discrimination, regional funding of 12 million euros was deliberated also for the “Alto Tirreno Cosentino-Pallino” area, despite the same has not been admitted to national financing. This decision allows this area, already positively evaluated in the Snai 2021-2027, to be supported through the resources of the Propase FESR FSE+ 2021-2027.
“The resolution – explains the regional councilor for agriculture and rural development Gianluca Gallo – recognizes the central role of the lenders of community in the internal areas and strengthens the commitment of the Calabria Region in the full implementation of the national strategy for the internal areas, contributing concretely to the sustainable and inclusive development of the most fragile and marginal territories”.
