Palmi is one of the four cities of Calabria involved in the sustainable mobility program with activation of the “bike sharing” service.
“Our city – announced the mayor Giuseppe Ranuccio – will host an electrical bike sharing service, with a latest generation bicycle fleet, distributed in virtual stations that we have located in strategic points. Anyone can take and restore bicycles also in stations other than the starting one, creating an integrated mobility system that improves the accessibility and sustainability of urban transport. This was possible thanks to an agreement between our municipality, Calabria railways, Vaimoo, Cometra and Calabria region. The bike sharing service, to which will also be added that of Car Pooling, has already been a reality for a while in many cities in Italy, especially the largest. Today Palmi, together with Castrovillari, Catanzaro and Cosenza, enters the circuit of sustainable mobility “continued the first citizen:” All the more reason I am proud of this initiative, which in addition to bringing a useful service, lights attention on a smart, ecological and at the same time more modern vision of the territory “.
