Taormina celebrates one hundred years since the birth of Andrea Camilleri

Two evenings at the Antico Theater in Taormina, on September 5th and 6th, will pay homage to Andrea Camilleri on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. The initiative, among the most significant on the national scene, will retrace the life and work of the writer Empedoclino, a central figure of contemporary Italian culture.

The events are promoted by the Sicilian Region – Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment – in collaboration with the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, led by the extraordinary commissioner Sergio Bonomo, by the superintendent Felice Panebianco and by the artistic director Gianna Fratta. To co-organize the appointment also by the Camilleri 100s Committee 100, chaired by Felice Laudadio, together with the Andrea Camilleri and Rai documentary fund. Main Sponsor will be Siae, while Rai will be Main Media Partner. The press conference for the presentation of the celebrations is set for Saturday 30 August at 12 at Palazzo Ciampoli, in Taormina.
