There is now full certainty that the doors of the pediatric cardiac surgery department in Taormina will not close tomorrow, upon expiry of the last extension of the collaboration relationship with the “Bambino Gesù” pediatric hospital in Rome granted on 25 July by the Ministry of Health until 31 December. The act which avoids the interruption of all the care paths already started was signed this time by the general director of the ASP of Messina, Giuseppe Cuccì, who signed the resolution with which a technical extension is arranged from 1 January to 30 June 2026 of the agreement signed in 2020 between the “Bambino Gesù'” and the provincial health authority, with the possibility of early withdrawal should further decisions be made by the Ministry over the next few months or the Regional Health Department.
