Mayor Nicola Fiorita received the trade union representatives of CGIL, CISL, UIL and UGL at Palazzo De Nobili. The theme of the meeting was the Telecontact dispute, a company 100% owned by the Tim group and which affects over 400 workers in the regional capital city.
The unions reiterated to the mayor that Telecontact workers have represented and continue to represent the flagship of the customer service of the parent company Tim and that, therefore, the sale of the company branch would represent a sensational mistake which unfortunately, even if not in the short term, could cause great uncertainty for the professional future of the entire employment perimeter also by virtue of the delicate moment of the sector, characterized by the digital transition.
The mayor collected the concerns of the workers’ representatives, ensuring that the municipal administration will take an active part in initiating every political and institutional contact useful for creating a strong and authoritative front in support of the dispute and to guarantee employment levels which are at the same time an important part of the city’s economy.
