Jannik Sinner continues to lead the ATP rankings despite still being in the pits. The South Tyrolean, who missed the US Open, precedes the winner of New York, the German Alexander Zverev, leading the Race, and the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. As for the Top 10, the main news concerns Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, protagonists of the third USA derby in a Slam semi-final in men’s singles in the 2000s. Both have reached the new best ranking: Shelton rises to number 4, Tiafoe to 8. The Russian Daniil Medvedev gains two positions and is sixth, Flavio Cobolli loses one and is seventh. Serbian Novak Djokovic is out of the top 10 for the first time since July 2018.
In the blue key, eight tennis players remain among the top 100. Lorenzo Musetti slips six steps and is 20th, Luciano Darderi is stable in 22nd place, Matteo Arnaldi is 37th (-1), Matteo Berrettini 43rd, Lorenzo Sonego 86th (+3) and Mattia Bellucci 90th (+5). Best ranking for Federico Cinà (168th, +13): the young Sicilian rose to fourth position in the Next Gen Race, the ranking based on the seasonal results of the Under 20s, and is therefore among the favorites for participation in the Next Gen ATP Finals organized this year in Reggio Calabria.
