The WTA 125 “International of Calabria” went to Sara Bejlrk. A title won after a beautiful final against Lorena Radivojevic (6/2 6/7 6/3) on the central field crowded in every order of a Chiappetta Sport Village who for a week hosted a high quality international tournament for the first time in Calabria.
There were 32 players who formed a balanced scoreboard with intense and rich in emotions. It was a wonderful week with a sports center filled with families, young tennis players, enthusiasts and curious. The moment of the award ceremony that saw the Chiappetta family with Egidio Chiappetta (president of the Chiappetta Sport Village), Marco Chiappetta (vice president of the Chiappetta Sport Village), Marcello Chiappetta and the national councilor Joe Lappano who rewarded the protagonists of a very fought final, is also beautiful and organized to perfection. The winner of the tournament was also awarded the Maurizio Chiappetta prize with this motivation: “To those with ethics, charisma and determination, honor sport and makes it an instrument of human and social growth”. And they are emotions in the memory of a Maurizio Chiappetta who gave everything for the growth of a sporting structure that has shown with this week of being able to host international events.
To embellish this special day, the presence of the institutions: the mayor of Cosenza Franz Caruso, the delegate to the sport of the Municipality of Rende Federico Belvedere and the rector of the Unical Nicola Leone. The double tournament instead was won by the couple formed by N. Fossa Huergo and Ekaterine Gorgodze against the Italians Aurora Zanteschi and Federica Urgesi (3/6 6/1 10/4).
