«Returning to create in the place where I was born is, first of all, a gesture of gratitude»: thus the Cosenza designer Giuseppe Cupelli on the eve of the “Trame di elegance” event, scheduled in the historic center of Lago, on Friday 7 August at 9pm, of which he is the creator and protagonist.
«Plots of elegance – explains the fashion designer – was born from the desire to demonstrate that fashion can be much more than a catwalk: it can become a tool to describe a territory, create connections and ignite new energy. I deeply believe that small villages have an enormous heritage to express and that investing in culture and creativity means investing in their future. Fashion does not only belong to big cities: it can be born, told and create value even in small towns, where every stone holds a story and every community can become the protagonist of its own tomorrow.”
The event was born from the desire to give back to one’s land a project capable of uniting culture, creativity and participation.
The program of the day includes educational workshops dedicated to children in the afternoon, which will alternate with a market exhibition of artisanal and handmade products, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about the work of local artisans and creatives and to taste the excellence of the local food and wine tradition.
At 9.00 pm the scenic steps of the historic center will be transformed into an open-air walkway. Alongside the creations of Giuseppe Cupelli, the dresses of the finalists of the Moda Movie festival, Jessica Bloise, Luana Furleo, Giuseppe Giampà, Elisa Sciammarella, will parade. The involvement of local activities will make the event even more significant: the makeup and hairstyles of the models will in fact be handled by local professionals, demonstrating a network of collaborations that enhances local skills, businesses and professionalism.
Cupelli worked for years with the greats of Made in Italy but with Calabria always in his heart and, as soon as possible, he returned with his wealth of experience and professionalism.
