Operation “Boreas”: acquittal sentence issued with contextual motivation for Raffaele Meles defended by the lawyers Ettore Zagarese and Pasqualino Capalbo as well as for Natalino Chiarello defended by the lawyer. This is the outcome of the preliminary hearing held before the Gup of the Court of Catanzaro, which then ordered the dismissal of three positions, for ten other defendants it admitted the requests for summary judgment which will be discussed between February and March 2026, while for the other defendants it ordered the indictment.
The operation, whose blitz began last April 1st by the State Police – which carried out thirteen precautionary custody orders in prison and seven under house arrest – is the result of a detailed investigation conducted by the Catanzaro DDA in collaboration with the Stuttgart Prosecutor’s Office concerning the hypothesized screenings of the Cirò Marina club in Germany. Among those under investigation are also professionals and white collar workers.
The crimes charged, all with the mafia aggravating circumstance, include: ‘Ndrangheta-type association, extortion, fraudulent transfer of values, damage, fictitious registration of assets, sophisticated financial crimes and money laundering.
