“Only through a true cultural revolution can we fight gender violence and we want our family counseling centers and psychology services, but in general all the company’s employees, to soon be able to form a unified paradigm to fight these dynamics. Among other things, we are preparing various initiatives and different alert systems also in our emergency rooms to report any doubtful cases”. The general director of the ASP Giuseppe Cuccì said this when presenting the initiative organized today against gender violence. The Provincial Health Authority of Messina has in fact raised the curtain on an important awareness initiative on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which occurs today 25 November. The company Technical Committee against gender violence is pleased to announce the staging of a theatrical show, created and performed by company employees Alessia Basile, Viviana Carlotta, Flavina Cucinotta, Tatiana D’Amico Emilia De Luca, Grazia Giannetto, Cristina Fazio, Anna Longo, Graziana Mollura, Mariangela Nicolosi, Flavia Tomasello, Graziella Tribulato, Paola Trifirò. The event, which was held in the Church of Santa Maria Alemanna, is the result of intense development work led by a professional director Carmelo Formica who was able to enhance the experience of the operators.
“The contents and issues addressed, in fact – explained Antonina Santisi, director of Uoc Psychology and member of the company’s technical panel against gender violence – come from health services, reworking and staging the stories, challenges and dynamics that staff encounter on a daily basis in combating this phenomenon. The objective is to transform the professional experience into a tool for reflection and change. To give voice to this crucial message, the ASP of Messina has set up its own internal theater company in recent years made up of employees from the various – administrative and healthcare areas that will interpret the play to promote the theme of equal opportunities and mutual respect, to raise awareness among the corporate community of the seriousness of the phenomenon of gender violence and to enhance the role and commitment of healthcare workers as sentinels and points of reference in the support network”.
