Slovakian media identify the suspected attacker of Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico as Juraj Cintula, former employee of a private security company and author of poems. It is reported that Cintula – identified by some media as a “left-wing” man – is the founder of the Duha Literary Club and according to his Facebook page he is the author of various collections of poetry and a novel. According to the portal Dennik N, eight years ago he announced on the Internet that he was collecting signatures for the founding of the political party Hnutie proti nasiliu, “Movement against violence”.
. «Violence is often a reaction of people, as a form of expression of simple dissatisfaction with the state of things. Let's try to be dissatisfied, but not violent!”, he wrote at the time, the portal reports. According to the website aktuality.sk, he legally owned a gun and had previously worked for a private security service and during that time, in 2016, he was the victim of an assault in a shopping mall. The portal managed to speak to the son of the suspected attacker, who said he was shocked and confirmed that his father legally owned a gun.
“I have no idea about my father's intentions, his plans or why it happened,” he said, adding that his father had never spoken openly about attacking Fico. Only «he didn't vote for him. That's all I can say about it,” she said. The son also denied that the man was a psychiatric patient. A long-time acquaintance and neighbor of the alleged attacker who had founded the party “against all violence” with him said, contacted by aktuality.sk, that “yes, he had a gun in his legal possession” due to his work to the security service. “I was shocked by what happened today.”
