The Calabria Region has decided to appeal to the TAR against the decision of the regional central office for the referendum, established at the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro, which, accepting an appeal from the centre-left opposition, deemed the referendum necessary to confirm the changes to the Statute relating to the introduction of the figure of undersecretaries.
The appeal to the TAR, announced in recent days by the President of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto, has been entrusted to the Regional Attorney’s Office, which disputes the legitimacy of the provision adopted by the Central Office for the referendum, deemed, as stated in the Attorney’s Decree, «abnormal, illegitimate and seriously detrimental to the interests of the Region». In particular, with the appeal the Calabria Region asks the TAR for a declaration of nullity or in any case the annulment of the provision of the Referendum Office at the Court of Appeal.
