«And now, the forty years of Catonateatro». An extraordinary 39th edition of the Summer Festival had just ended and already this promise of Lillo Chilà hovered over the stands of the “Alberto Neri” arena; it was the announcement of a great goal to be shared all together, in the spirit of Polis Cultura, but also to be enriched and accompanied with events of great importance. And here is Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, among the most famous operas in the world, ready to arrive at the Cilea Theater next April in the version created by maestro Franco Zeffirelli. After the extraordinary success achieved by the Cilea season ticket campaign for 2025, which was interrupted early due to an excess of registrations to make room for the sale of individual shows, Polis Cultura continues to exalt the Reggio theater with its major events and with a 2025 that will promises to be amazing, just as the anniversary to celebrate is even more beautiful now.
The dream had been on the table for some time and it came true thanks to a precious synergy put in place by the owner Chilà who explains: «The idea started a long time ago but we encountered great difficulties, considering the artistic depth of the event. Then we turned 40 and we decided that the time had come to release this dream and it was possible thanks to the push of many friends; many respectable people who are passionate and close to Catonateatro, as well as the common people who every year loudly ask for the great opera to return to Cilea, so we decided to throw ourselves into the venture.”
