A work composed of 432 pages, a sort of framework for planning the Messina that will be. It is the Strategic Metropolitan Urban Plan of the Strait, approved yesterday afternoon by the City Council after passing it to the Commission on Tuesday. It is a complex planning document that sets medium and long-term objectives, fundamental for the future development of the city. The plan, in fact, has a ten-year time horizon and is based on five key themes that have guided the entire development of the document: infrastructures and integrated mobility systems; environment, sustainability and ecological transition; territorial governance, territorial planning, urban regeneration and urban planning; economic development, innovation, education and work; simplification of administrative machinery and digitalisation.
