The controls of the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Castrovillari in the Morano Calabro area led to the reporting of five subjects and two seizures. The first related to the construction of a dog oasis in the “Crancia” area where, following documentary checks, it was ascertained that the works were carried out in an area that does not contemplate the construction of new buildings but exclusively interventions relating to existing buildings and structures. Inconsistencies also emerged regarding the excavation volumes and the classification of the intervention. We therefore proceeded to seize the area, where work had already started inside, and to refer three people, the owner, the person responsible for the procedure and the designer.
Another seizure also took place in the municipality of Morano Calabro in the “Crocefisso” area following a joint check with the soldiers of the local Territorial Carabinieri Station on a company property where numerous end-of-life vehicles were stored on bare ground with a real risk of spills of oil, fuel or other liquids coming from the vehicles. The area was therefore seized and its legal representative was referred for violation of sector regulations.
Particular attention is paid by the Forestry Carabinieri to the rural area of Castrovillari and to the industrial area of ”Cammarata” in the city of Pollino where in recent weeks, following a report to the environmental emergency number, the soldiers of the Trebisacce and Castrovillari unit intervened, reporting three other people, the owner of a company and two workers, for illicit burning of waste.
