The favorite Lorenzo Lotti wins the Messina Marathon, in the “Half” Calabrian successes

The favorite Lorenzo Lotti he won the 14th edition of the Antonello da Messina marathon, conditioned by the strong sirocco wind. Among the women to establish herself was Monica Ottobrini from Lombardy. For Lotti from Emilia, this is the third success after the 2023 and 2019 editions. In second place was Filadelfio Gaeta from Lentini while Sebastiano Foti from Catania closed out the podium. The Shakespear run went instead to Riccardo Pavone (Universitas Palermo), while the first of the people from Messina was Giuseppe Trimarchi who came fourth. First of the women Nadia Sukaryna from Torrebianca. The Calabrian Emanuele Sesti from Lamezia Terme triumphed in the half marathon, ahead of Loris Bertolone from Messina and Adriano Abbisogni from Palermo. Always in the middle, first of the women is Francesca Paone of the Hobby Marathon Catanzaro.

The route, closed to car traffic, saw the departure around 8.30 and the arrival on the mountain side lane of via Garibaldi near Piazza Unione Europea and ran between Corso Cavour, Piazza Duomo, via I Settembre, Piazza Cairoli, Viale San Martino up to Viale Europa and the return for a 5 kilometer and two hundred meter tour to be carried out twice for the Shakespear run and Fitwalking, 4 times for half marathons and 8 times for marathons with a maximum expected time of five hours.
