After a long time, Andrea Meroni he partially returned to the group during yesterday's training, second to last before the match against Cittadella. The central defender from Monza, therefore, enters the last step before returning to the field. His last match dates back to 23 December against Bari. After the match against the red and whites, he remained on the bench with both Como and Cremonese, between the first and second half of the season, but since then he has entered the pits. His march towards the pitch will continue next week.
Meanwhile, yesterday in the afternoon session he carried out differentiated work Michael Venturi. The Romagna defender slowed down as a precaution, however, he will not be part of the match against the Granata due to being disqualified following the double yellow card against Catanzaro. In this morning's finishing session, Fabio Caserta will give his team the final check-up (before the session, he will be in the conference at 10 am). After that, the eleven to oppose Edoardo Gorini's team will become totally clear in his head.
The Venetians share with Palermo the worst defense among the teams in the first section of the table: the Granata have conceded 38 goals. Cosenza conceded six fewer. Furthermore, Citta is one of the worst teams in the second division in terms of number of points won away from home. In fact, outside of the “Tombolato”, Branca and his teammates only scored 13 points in as many games (same number of points as Ascoli, who played one more game away). Only three did worse, Bari, Feralpisalò and Lecco. The last match won at home by the Venetians remains that of 2 December at the home of Feralpisalò, a match decided by the marking of former player Luca Pandolfi. For Cosenza there is an opportunity to exploit to resolve the internal problems exacerbated by the slips against Sampdoria and Catanzaro.
Previous. Four Bruzie victories in the seven previous matches played on the banks of the Crati. Cittadella managed to impose itself only on one occasion, on 3 March 2020. That time, they conquered “Marulla” with goals from Stanco and Vita to which Raul Asencio partially responded in injury time. Cosenza's victory has been missing since 6 May 2022: match decided by Zilli, three fundamental points to reach the playouts then won against Vicenza. In the past championship there was a second 1-1 draw (like in October 2020: Carretta after Rosafio's away advantage). In this case, D'Urso scored the 1-0 for Sila, then thwarted shortly after by Mirko Antonucci, then on the other side.
The rossoblù also won the first three matches played at the foot of the Sila. In November 2000, Pisano's decisive goal from a penalty allowed the Sila team to move up to +4 on second in the standings. In August 2001, however, Zaniolo and Tatti gave the team a 2-1 success (Ghirardello for the guests), while in February 2019, the Cosenza success came with the stamps of Sciaudone and Tutino. The Neapolitan striker will be the notable absentee from tomorrow afternoon's match.
