The 48th edition of the Garitta National Award, dedicated to the theme “Evil and Good”, has concluded. The event was led by the artistic director Antonello Musmeci, directed by Pino Leoni and hosted by Adriana Pannitteri. The awards for “Men and Society” were general Salvatore Altavilla, provincial commander of the Carabinieri, and Fabio Ciciliano, head of the national Department of Civil Protection; for the “Cinema” section the director Aurelio Grimaldi and Peppino Mazzullo, historical voice of Topo Gigio.
For journalism, the award went to Vincenzo Morgante, director of TV2000, while the Medicine and Research section celebrated the commitment of the cardiologist Giuseppe Leonardi. There is also space for music and culture with the singer-songwriter Enzo Gragnaniello and the maestro Giovanni Cultrera di Montesano. Awarded as best television journalistic program, “Report” Rai 3 by Sigfrido Ranucci. The prize of the “Pax Dei” section was awarded to the Holy See, through a remote connection with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State. The special mentions of this edition include: Antonio Ingroia, former prosecutor and member of the anti-mafia pool of Palermo, the pianist Santi Scarcella, the doctor Rosario Brischetto and the director of the San Filippo Neri Oratory, Giuseppe Salomone.
In recent years, other names of extreme quality have been added: from Maurizio Costanzo to Aldo Forbice from Roberto Gueli or Diego Bianchi from Mario Giordano to Paolo del Debbio from Pippo Baudo to Sigfrido Ranucci, from Bruno Vespa, Renzo Arbore, Pino Leoni, Riccardo Cocciante to Andrea Purgatori, Adriana Pannitteri, Ignazio Ingrao, from the President of the Senate La Russa to the President of the CEI, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, from the Ukrainian Consul Kovalenko to Professor Matteo Bassetti and last year Cardinal Giambattista Pizzaballa who connected from Jerusalem, dozens of names who every year consolidate the authority of this prestigious award, which has entered the special ranking of the Ministry of Culture
