“Whodunit?”. In this search for “Who did it?” started by the great investigators of the detective story is inspired by the “Giallo & Noir Festival” planned in Cosenzaat the Provincial Palace, next 25 and 26 October 2024. An event not to be missed for fans of the genre and for an edition that will bring important guests and a very rich program to Calabria.

Who was it? It will refer to the authors, “guilty” of having given readers unforgettable protagonists who create literary addiction, and also to those who have solved a mystery or found the culprit and to those who have committed a crime. From the deduction and acumen of amateur or institutional investigators to the progress that has allowed the use of scientific investigation methods that lead to the solution of a case, the guests of the festival with their works and with references to masters of the genre to whom they have inspired by or to whom they have dedicated their readings or their literary homages, they will be at the center of a talk-interrogation that will retrace their training and also the history of the Italian detective story genre.
From detective books defined as yellow due to the cover color chosen by the Mondadori publishing house starting from 1929, through the twenty years of fascism with the ministry of popular culture which issued the provision requiring the presence of Italian authors in every fiction series, up to the De Marchi, De Angelis, Varaldi, Mastriani, D’Errico and today Camilleri, De Giovanni, Manzini, Genisi. From these considerations and from historicity, Cosenza is the first city in the South to have organized a festival dedicated to the most read genre in the last thirty years. With the 2012, 2013 and 2018 editions, the city of Bruzi welcomed writers, journalists and actors who brought their professionalism to an event that aimed to offer the territory moments of culture and leisure and which aimed at promoting reading with student involvement. This will also be the case in the new edition in the coming weeks.
“The promotion of the territory through the invitation to read and the involvement of Calabrian artistic excellence will not make the days of the festival the right space to combine leisure with culture”, assure the “Lux Solis” Institute, organizer of the event. The Festival is created by Cristina Marra and Andrea Napoli. The artistic direction is by Cristina Marra. Marketing director Andrea Napoli. Press office: Francesco Mannarino. Social Management: Magenta Communication & Marketing. The guests? Fausto Vitaliano, Valentina de Poli, Vito Bruschini, Paolo di Giannantonio, Alessandro Maurizi, Giancarlo Piacci, Gabriella Genisi just to name a few.
